Burn-InjuriesBurn injury is something that most of us are well acquainted with. This is the most commonly occurring house hold injury. It is a fact that every year 2 and a half million people get burn injuries only in America. And a huge number of those injured people seek help from the doctors. But so many among them are injured so mildly that they do not have to go to the doctors as the mild burn injuries can be treated at home.

If the burn injury that you have experienced is not serious then you can have yourself treated at home. You won’t have to use any medicines to do that. You can use the household commodities that you can use to treat the affected place.

Milk is a very useful material when it comes to treating mere burns. You will have to soak the burnt place with milk. Milk is taken to be a very convenient soother as you will find milk in every ones house. But not every kind of milk works on the burnt place.  Normally, the fat present in milk soothes the burn and cools it down. If the milk in your house does not have fat, then it won’t be of much help.

You will have to soak the burnt place with milk for at least 15 minutes. Or you could soak a piece of dry and clean cloth in milk and wrap it around the burnt place.

To help the burn to heal up quickly, you will have to keep the place clean. Wash the burnt place with soap or betadine after 24 hours of the injury. The time between this, keep the spot dry and keep it wrapped with a bandage or gauze.

Look for Hemorrhoid creams in your house. Because this creams work wonders to the burns. All you have to do is apply some cream on the spot and cover the place with a bandage. Applying hemorrhoid cream would help the burn to heal up 3-4 days faster that it would take normally.

In most cases our first reflex reaction to burns is to soak the burnt place in ice cold water. But this is not a very good idea as it can worsen the situation of the burnt place by producing some more dead cells around the burnt place. You will have to use cool water that will low down the temperature of the burnt place and prevent the burn to get spread. This is helpful as it won’t damage skin cells.
